The Ides of March — Old School Gospel

Would like to share with you http://www.davidbyrne.com/radio/index.php

This month March they play old gospel recordings.

Enjoy, Angelika

David Byrne writes:
"The Ides of March — Old School Gospel
With the economy and people's finances in free fall, this is a time when many of us pause to reassess our values — what is important to us, what really matters and how we might restructure our lives to reflect those values. Musically, many will turn to songs that convey a feeling of nostalgia — pop and rock and R&B tunes that meant a lot to people when they were younger, and the future looked brighter. I would like to propose that a future with a radically restructured GM (or possibly without GM) might be OK — it might be even better than OK, as those kinds of corporations have not had American citizens' best interests at heart, ever. So, we turn to the values expressed in old school — and I mean really old school — gospel. Whether you believe in the geezer upstairs or not, you might enjoy these tunes. They're also the structural foundation upon which a lot of popular music was built — a strong foundation, I might add.

Thanks for greetings from

Thanks for greetings from Brooklyn-Kenyan-Danubian melting-pot! Yes, I joint the HoP - missed the beginning though and could stay for about 10 minutes only.
Lately, I kind of lost track a bit, I must confess... so many things happening here these weeks.
But thought of you this morning with a sudden certainty that in spite of what I said before I reckon your running for the green party is one of the best things you could do...
Love to everybody,
Angelika

Angelika and friends

Did you come to Nairobi for our last Hour Of Power?  Savitri and I are still here, on Magingo Island, constructed inside the Donaufestival complex in Krems.  The 50-strong community of happy radicals from Kenya have become our allies and friends.  We exorcised a non-Fair Trade cash register with their singing and dancing so infectious.  -- best, Rev

Well I love this

I love this music and I know there's an equivalent for us to find now, with the god they are singing about gone but something else - life itself - still with us, for the time being anyway... but oh so beautiful...    -- Rev
