Political Analysis with RevolutionMuslim.Com 2/13/09

This video was really made for the Muslim community but we welcome your input on our political calls. Thanks for putting up with us :)
We hereby declare and make absolute public declaration that revolutionmuslim.com operates under the first amendment right to freedom of religion and expression and that in no, way, shape or form do we call for war against the U.S. government or adhere to the enemies of the United States elsewhere. We do however hold the belief, as stated honestly and openly in our mission statement, that the Muslim world should be permitted to unite under the banner of Islam. To suggest that this in some way implies that the reestablishment of the caliphate would require the dismantlement of the United States government is fallacy. We seek, rather, to witness the imperialist ambitions of the United States government and especially the private tyrannies (corporations, financial institutions, military-industrial complex) that control it subside in their quest for empire and "full spectrum dominance" and we call for the relinquishment of autonomy and respect for sovereignty across the Muslim world to the people and not in the hands of the dictators, and authoritarian regimes this structure keeps in power by continuing to engage in foreign policy we feel is the root cause of all the terrorism in the world. the American Gulag - our detention centers in the US

Our new "Fabulous Worship" with the choir and the band carries the painful theme of Immigrant Rights in this country, and in our city New York.  At the Highline Ballroom we will invite the hardworking advocates from the many orgs and communities.  We'll have a singing tour of local detention centers, probably on March 7th, starting at the Varick St jail.  This is a heartbreaking human loss, and all the public gets is the occasional news of a tragedy as the for-profit prisons admit that they failed to medical attention to an inmate who died.  I offer a link here to a very good source, and perhaps we'll see you at the Highline.  We've created a song for the occasion - practiced it last night.

No, it is not fear that prompted me to write my comments; I do not fear Muslims, nor am I nervous engaging people of any particular religion or philosophy. I'm sorry if fear is the standard response you get when presenting your ideas, but do not be so quick to assume that it is paranoia that spurs an unfavorable response to your actions. Instead, please consider what I have said about piggybacking on this site. If I am incorrect in this assumption, please accept my appologies.

RevM.

RevM,

You present a quandary; should this community join in solidarity with fundamentalists of any stripe? If the church flirts with joining up with Christian orgs., why shouldn't it associate with Muslim orgs.? I feel the latter question is irrelevant and misleading, although it is understandable if someone poses this issue.
Let me begin by saying that what Israel is doing to Palestine, etc. is flat out wrong. I believe Israel is a criminal state, and Israeli leaders who have participated in campaigns against their neighbors should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.
I also believe in the right of self-determination. Arab states should have the right to form their own governments, even if these governments run contrary to western morals and ethics; the only exceptions to this would be that the governments must adhere to basic human rights standards (no genocides, etc.), environmental regulations, and WMD non-proliferation standards. If we don't like what someone is doing, we should apply economic and political sanctions (within reason), rather than trying to subvert nations in an illegal (and unethical) manner.
I cannot speak for this church, only myself. I feel it is inappropriate to use this website in the manner in which you have been doing. Posting videos and stating your opinions is one thing, but posting quasi-legal disclaimers regarding the distribution of your funds is another. This is not a proxy site for your org., nor should it be used as a stepping stone to gain notoriety, nor to solicit funding for your org.
On another level, I also feel that, although we share some common goals, there are simply too many differences in our philosophies to join together in true solidarity. Again, I am only speaking for myself in this regard; it is up to Bill, Sav, and the "church elders" to make such a decision.
RevM., I support your right to post here, to be heard in public, and to promote your org. in the proper manner. However, I feel that what you are doing here is inappropriate. I can see you are an intelligent person, so I hope you take this msg. in the spirit in which it was written.

Hi SeaQ,

I am not here to raise money for our org that is our standard disclaimer. I am not here in total solidarity as I stated before but to throw some ideas and to hear your comments on them. No need to be nervous, if you don't want to be Muslim don't it is your choice.

Fine Regards
