Pew Trust as just released an interesting poll of "priorities"--1500 people responding to questions about the future, whats important, whats on their mind etc.. Does this match your priorities or not?
From today's NY Times a report on how bad things really are- retail sales down a whopping .1 percent (yes .1 percent!) last year. Here is some despair from Wal-Mart ceo "Mr. Sweatshop" Lee Scott:

We just came from the Hoover Dam. It was always an amazingly militarized place, like something out of a old time Nazi movie, floodlights and smoothed out concrete shapes, but they have definitely stepped up security since I was last there.
Rev and I are at Kennedy Airport, on our way to the Sonoran desert in search of some border wisdom. We spent the day at Coney Island in the bitter cold, the situation is grim but in typical scrappy Coney Island spirit everyone still had a great time.
